Hydrive S

Hydrive, the best sports energy drink. I have a good set up of reviews on sports energy drinks coming, including a new Golazo and another Hydrive.

Taste: It is a nice blue raspberry taste, comparable to the blue Gatorade, but alot better. It isnt their strongest flavor, but it keeps the trend of greatness alive. Rating: 8 out of 10

Buzz: Same, no difference, 1455 mgs of the great caffeine. Yet another reason why this drink should be over all others in the energy game. You dont know what you want America, I do. Rating 8 out of 10.

Overall Drink Rating 8 out of 10

Package: Average, but well executed. Hydrive makes a solid but catchy slim bottle, and it works well with the drink inside. Label isnt very cluttered, and the ingredients are all here, so good rating.

Hydrive Extra Strength

Hello Again. I'm back with a review for the ever delicious line of Hydrive energy drinks. So lets get started.

Taste: As usual, Hydrive has got a great flavor in their newest creation. This one is a black cherry, and it is a smooth flavor thats easily enjoyable. At one point I got the after taste of Dr. Pepper in my mouth. I cant really explain that. But anyway, almost a perfect drink. Rating 8 out of 10

Buzz: Extra Strength = a boost up to 195 mgs of glorious caffeine. Is their really anyway I can downgrade that, the best energy drinks on earth just got better.
Rating 9 out of 10

Overall Drink Rating 8.5 out of 10

Package: As usual, the slim bottle provides a nice design with its well designed wrapper in tow. Nothing more to really say, it has your nutrition facts and all. So, I say a solid rating here. Its not the prettiest, but it gets the job done.

Penguin Mints

A shocking series of highs and lows in my life has restricted me from reviewing on a regular basis lately. I almost gave up and got rid of NRG Drink Euphoria because of all the stuff I have went through recently. I realized I had to hang on and I did and now I am back with a review of Penguin Mints. I saved the original for last because they didnt seem to pique my interest like the other flavors but I still have high hopes for them.

Taste: To describe it simply, its a good ol' fashioned mint. I ate 20 or more while doing biology homework and listening to Metallica and Nirvana. I couldnt stop gourging on these delicious mints and then I finally was out and was very saddened. How could I be out of these delicious mints? To put it in simple terms, the mints were so damn goood that whe my supply ran out I was severely angered and got pissed, and then threw my shoe at a cat. That just comes to show you how powerful addiction is. Rating 9 out of 10

Buzz: Same as the others, just what we all expected. I cant really go into a detailed review on the buzz for a third time, but I can say they pack a moderate caffeine serving and it takes alot to get your desired energy amount. One Penguin is the caffeine equivalent of one cola beverage, so 3 is the strength of a Pepsi. Strong, no, decent, sure why not? Rating 6 out of 10

Overall Mint Rating 7.5 out of 10

Look: The original's look follows the same pattern as the previous two. The majority of this tin is black and white (like a penguin) and yellow. I think the colors work nicely and deliver an attractive package to look at. They do give a clear idea of about how much caffeine is in one mint, but no definite amount so they get half credit. All in all, the original Penguins are in a nice package, and stand out well among other mint tins.

Rocket Chocolate Orange Blast

This is another one of the products I received from the ever so gracious ChemicalEvolution.com. I regretted coming to these for two reasons. First reason is that how in the heck is my piece of junk camera gonna get a picture of something that small. As you can see, I just lined em all up and snapped a pic. The other reason is that I really dont like flavored chocolate. I never could bring myself to enjoy Russel Stovers when I was younger. I sucked it up today to review a flavor of the caffeinated Rocket Chocolate.

Taste: Thank goodness, it does not suck. I picked the orange first because I felt it wouldnt suck that bad, and in all reality it didnt suck at all. I expected a cream filled piece of crap gourmet chocolate, but got a very nice lightly flavored, non cream filled chocolate instead. The orange flavoring is light and balanced out well by the chocolate. I feel that not adding alot of the orange into the flavor worked well and made a great tasting chocolate. There was no aftertaste to it, another positive. All in all, Rocket Chocolate Orange Blast exceeded my expectations in flavor and left me wanting another. Rating 7 out of 10

Buzz: I read on Energy Fiend that these only contain 42 mgs per piece despite a claim of 150. I think I will beleive Energy Fiend on this one. I still feel for a small caffeinated chocolate this is a good amount. I didnt expect anything much from these, and I got the right amount of caffeine I expected. I didnt get a real uplifting, but its chocolate. We all know if there is chocolate around you are prone to eat 5 or 6 pieces before you quit. That being said, they serve a good purpose. I cant give them a high rating, but I do beleive they are above average. Rating 6 out of 10

Overall Candy Rating 6.5 out of 10

Look: Rocket Chocolate is individually wrapped in a metallic wrapper. Each one is color coated, of course this one being orange. I think they have the right packaging for this, and draws attention nicely. When I think of chocolate like this, I see a gold wrapper that shines and stands out amongst everything out and you get that here. Its not overboard flashy, and it doesnt have a hardcore logo, but the packaging is very professional. It doesnt have a caffeine amount listed, but that is ok in this situation.

Love Potion

Thanks to Chemical Evolution, I was finally able to obtain some products from Harcos. Harcos Labs makes the most creative packaging of any company out there, but how do their shots taste and perform. Do these awesome looking shots hold up?

Taste: This one does. This is one of the best tasting energy shots I have ever had. It has a light berry taste, and does not have that nasty finish like most shots. I tried not to slam it down, but I gave in because it was so damn good. I find this to be one of the greatest efforts put into a shot, and it definitly makes it to the top of the list for energy shot of the year, but that is some time from now, so we will have to wait and see. Rating 8 out of 10

Buzz: 1.05 mgs of energy blend, not to shabby for what I consider a novelty product. I got a fairly substantial buzz, spanning for a period of two and a half hours. As my buzz receded, I did not experience a crash, though I rarely do. To make this segment of the review longer, I will also let you know I experinced no jitters, but I never get those anyway. I really found no major flaws in this shot, none at all, and I feel this exceeded my expectations for a novelty energy/aphrodisiac shot. Rating 7 out of 10

Overall Shot Rating 7.5 out of 10

Look: These shots look so awesome. I love how it resembles a small potion vile. Harcos Labs has knocked the packaging on all their products out of the park, and Love Potion certainly exceeds Health and Mana in the looks department. It has a larger logo, which I am really happy about because you can actually see it in the picture. It does not list caffeine amount, but does that really affect the look rating on this bad boy. Yes, it does. I hate when their is no amount for caffeine, even when the product has a cool package like this. That being the only major flaw, I feel that this has a very good package.

Buzz Bites

Buzz Bites are a pretty cool product. They are energy chocolate chews that come in two flavors, chocolate and mint chocolate. I was a bit skeptical about these succeeding, just because caffeine tends to bend the tastes of products. I was also worried because I dont like chewy chocolate. These are yet another product from Chem Evo.

Taste: I was unsure of something to compare these to, until my step brother compared them to a protein shake, kinda like Muscle Milk. I completely agree with this, it is like a protein shake, and quite good actually. Unfortunatly, it happens to get worse near the end, but its not a bad taste. I think that these are one of the more enjoyable products from the box so far, but they do need to work out some stuff in the taste department before these are a mind blowing product. Still, Buzz Bites are a worthy ivestment if you are looking for a good taste. Rating 6 out of 10

Buzz: 1 Buzz Bite = 1 cup of coffee. In case you dont know what one cup of coffee is, it is 100 mgs of caffeine. These little guys are pretty potent. I got a solid buzz from one, and on the next one I got even more of a stimulation. Buzz Bites come in a pack of 6, which is 600mgs per tin. If you eat them all, you are gonna have an epic buzz, but once again, please know your limits on caffeine if you ever get a tin of these. Not everyone has the same resistance to caffeine, but enough of my safety crap. Buzz Bites live up to the name and provide a great buzz. Rating 8 out of 10

Overall Candy Rating 7 out of 10

Look: Buzz Bites come in a small red tin. On the inside, it has the logo under the lid in gold and the text "Seriously Caffeinated!" under it. Each chew is individually wrapped in foil with the logo on it, but the foil is harder to unwrap than it should be. The overall design of the tin is nice, it refrains from useless text and lists a caffeine amount. All in all, Buzz Bites have no packaging flaws other than the foil being hard to unwrap.

Cheetah Power Surge

This is two milestones for me, my first foreign and caffeine-free energy drink. As far as the foreign part, this is a product of Canada, and I am pretty excited to sample it. The caffeine-free part is a let down, no caffeine usually means a very small buzz. I commend companies branching outwards to try and develop new ways of making great energy drinks but taking caffeine out isnt good, but my buzz rating will have to change a little for these drinks.

Taste: It tasted like candied Red Bull, no joke. And actually, It is lots better than Red Bull. This is one of those few drinks that I just really enjoy, but find repulsive at the same time. On this occasion, I belive the enjoyment takes charge and this drink delivered a very enjoyable taste. There wasn't an after taste which I was glad to see, and everything is done well here, and I am very glad to see this. Unfortuantly, I can not give this above a 7, I just cant do it. Rating 7 out of 10

Buzz: I am reviewing this as a kudos review. I am not actually implying this is a killer drink, just that they tried hard enough to give me a buzz that I know I am not gonna feel. Ok, so they packed 946 mgs of ginkgo, 473 mgs of Chinese ginseng, 473 mgs of Siberian ginseng, and 817 mgs of royal jelly. They abviously tried very hard here indeed. Two types of ginseng, ginkgo, and royal jelly which comes from honey bees is a not actually hardcore, but they put wicked amounts in here and made a valiant effort, and wholly deserve credit for their drink. Rating 10 out of 10
***This drink was weak, it gets kudos for being caffeine free and trying hard***

Overall Drink Rating 8.5 out of 10

Look: The package is a failure for sure. It comes in a standard 16 oz can, but the design is shrink wrapped on. If the shrink wrap wasnt bad enough, the design of it is repulsive and bland. There is way to much text on the front with the combination of French and English and the logo is just flat out horrible. I was impressed with this drink as a drink, but the design work is terrible. I wish they would revise this, but I have to say this is hands down worst packaging I have come across.
